In Turkey, diverse factors contribute to the harm inflicted upon forests, lakes, wildlife, and ultimately, nature. However, the primary source of harm remains constant, humans. We are not a rule abiding society, and as long as we persist in this behavior, conditions for nature will continue to deteriorate. To demonstrate the declining state of nature in present-day Turkey, we documented the ineffectiveness of warning sign poles at real incident-sites with the assistance of professional photojournalists. These poles, originally erected to protect lakes, forests, or wildlife, now remain as symbols of degraded environments they were intended to safeguard.
